Start at the start

As with most other Alabama girls, I was raised in a Christian family. This family was headed by the most amazing single mother you will ever know. Of course, as the saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child." Or something like that. My mother's village was her family. Thanks to this family, I began attending church at the age of about four. I am very grateful for my upbringing. My family, and mother most of all, taught me many things.

Above all things, they taught me to question everything. Do not take what someone says at face value. Find the truth for yourself. This is what I have set out to do.

As far as religion is concerned, I have been all over  the board in my short time here on this earth. I have gone from being a "faithful" Christian, to following Wicca, to being a Diest, to going back to Christianity. This sounds like it may be all over the board. But nothing is more out of the way than what I am about to say. Just remember as I go on with this, that I have been raised in a Western culture, Christian, and southern family.

I have been praying and doing my research and reading. After months of searching, it seems I have come to the start of a new start. I am not sure what to do with the information I have gathered. I just need a space to share my thoughts and get input into them.

I have been reading the Quran and studying Islam for a couple of months now. It seems to make more sense than anything else.

It is time for much more research and study into this.

"Every righteous person has a past, and every sinner has a future."
